My father was a handful to say the least. He threw everyone out of his home except our care manager. She was able to get him to understand that accepting some help in the home was to his benefit and it didn't mean he would lose his independence. -----------Sally
My mother was willing to go to a senior community but we didn't know where she would be comfortable and we didn't have time to do all the research. After making a few calls ourselves we were more confused. There were basic fees, move in fees and level of care costs to be considered. We didn't know how we were going to pay for all of it. My mother was having alot of difficulty at home. She was unable to clean, take care of her dog or drive and she was nervous about letting "strangers" in the home. We live out of state and didn't know what to do, she wouldn't move in with us and she needed help. The care manager made a visit to see my mother and immediately put her at ease.
